There's a certain mood, an oddly specific aspect of existential misery triggered in me when listening to this - especially Von Alcoholische Verbittering Naar Religieuze Cult and its follow-up tracks. It's almost like spectating myself being overwhelmed by my demons: an ego death; a vicious, delirious frenzy induced by e.g. Salvia Divinorum, fighting over the control of my fleshly vessel, torn apart from within. I live for tracks like this, thrive in the 'visions'... absolute god-tier ambience.

Yith is the most underrated band in their weight class. Another blackened doom masterpiece- bleak and spare and unrelenting. What a way to cap off this winter but with this hellish droning record whose highs and lows are all insanely beautiful. ‘Passage’ takes you on a journey through the void. Articulate soundscaping dragging you with them, a bloody mess, because the only way out is through.
